Client Brief

Client is a home metals and iron casting company who is located in the North Central part of the United States.

Issue

The Client uses PeopleSoft HCM and Financials applications. They had an internal employee providing UNIX administration and DBA support but the Client was dissatisfied because of significant issues with the backup and recovery process. In total, two people managed their database and infrastructure.

DSI Solution

DSI was engaged to provide DBA services, including streamlining their database set-up and backup/recovery procedures. Then, due to staff turnover, the Client engaged DSI to provide application support for the PeopleSoft system. Subsequently, DSI took over total responsibility for UNIX administration.

DSI is able to provide the Client with support for its PeopleSoft applications and database and UNIX environments with one-half of a person of support at a savings of over $150,000 per year.
