Oracle Data Guard

Oracle’s Data Guard ensures high availability, data protection and disaster recovery for enterprise data. Data Guard consists of a comprehensive set of services that create, maintain, manage and monitor one or more standby databases to enable production Oracle databases are able to survive disasters and data corruption. Data Guard maintains these standby databases as transactionally-consistent copies of the production database. In the event that a production database becomes unavailable, Data Guard can activate a standby database to minimize any downtime associated with the outage. Under normal usage of production databases, a standby database can be used as a read-only copy for high performance reporting.

DSI consultants have experience in setting up various configurations for Data Guard as a high availability solution or a reporting solution using logical and physical standby setup. We have experience in using both command line scripts and DGMGRL Data Guard broker setup for automatic and manual failover.
